We were able to secure an additional discount on a shipment of our raw acerola cherry powder, so for the next week or so, you can save an additional $3 off the everyday discounted price. To stock up during this rare opportunity, visit: https://www.drbenkim.com/sunshop/index.php?l=product_detail & p=48 *** Do you know what the 10 main causes of disease are? To view a summary of the 10 main causes of disease and dysfunction, view the recently published article here: http://drbenkim.com/main-causes-disease.htm If you have any family members or friends who might benefit from reading this article, please pass it on. My goal in writing it was to encourage all of us to remember that our health is always being shaped by our daily choices, and that without a foundation of good emotional health, we don't stand a good chance of staying healthy as we age. *** Notes on Two of Our Recommended Health Products: 1. Thera Cane The Thera Cane is a remarkable self massaging unit that I regularly use and recommend to folks who need acupressure and trigger point work in their upper shoulder and back regions. Tight muscles in the "shoulder shawl" region can lead to upper back stiffness, neck pain, and even tension headaches. Using the Thera Cane to melt away knots in your shoulder and back muscles is one of the best things that you can do for your health while watching a program on television. The other is stretching/yoga. For more information on my favorite self- massaging tool, view: https://www.drbenkim.com/sunshop/index.php?l=product_detail & p=38 2. Virgin Coconut Oil If you regularly wash your feet with soap, it's important that you make a habit out of moisturizing your feet after every washing. If you don't moisturize your feet after washing them with soap, over time, you're likely to develop brittle skin around your heels, and as the years go by, you may even experience painful cracks in the area that won't heal easily. The most effective and safest moisturizer that you can use to keep the skin around your feet and heels soft and healthy as you age is a high quality coconut oil. After each washing, apply the tiniest amount of coconut oil to your heels and distribute the oil all over your feet until the skin is well moisturized. If your feet feel oily after finishing, it means you used too much - reduce the amount that you use the next time. You can actually do the same thing with your hair, as coconut oil is an excellent all-natural hair conditioner. But again, please remember to use the tiniest amount to begin with, less than what you would probably guess that you need. For more information on the premium virgin coconut oil that we use, visit: https://www.drbenkim.com/sunshop/index.php?l=product_detail & p=60 And if you can't afford to follow this recommendation with coconut oil, simply do it with whatever moisturizer you use for the rest of your skin. Your feet will thank you for it in the years ahead. *** Two last items to mention: If you eat a lot of watermelon over the summer months and would like to know how to maximize the nutritional value of the watermelons that eat, view the following page: http://drbenkim.com/watermelon-nutrition.htm If you and your partner or a close friend are considered by most in your circle of family and friends to be really nice people, but the two of you just don't get along very well, you might benefit from understanding the concept of your "primary love language." To listen to a podcast of an article that I wrote on understanding your primary love language, visit: http://drbenkim.com/podcast/primary-love-language.htm *** I'll leave you today with a Korean proverb that reflects the importance of respecting our elders: "Even when sitting down to drink cold water, you must let your elders drink first." The Korean culture really emphasizes the importance of honoring those who have lived longer than us, and I really cherish this. Even to this day, when I sit down at a table to eat with family members and friends, I just can't get myself to lift a spoon to my mouth until the eldest person at the table takes a mouthful of food. Does that sound weird? It's just a part of Korean culture, and if you ever visit a Korean restaurant, you're bound to observe this pattern of behavior among traditional Korean families. Just another fun tidbit about Korean culture.
