Guest guest
Hi Everyone, Happy New Year! This is such a wonderful group and a terrific resource. Thank you for all of your insight and advice. My name is Santoro and I have two sons: Roman (DS) will be three in May and Lucas will be one in April. We are in the process of transitioning to the IU with Roman (his evaluation is in February). We are planning on enrolling him in a typical preschool in the fall. It is a Waldorf school that is right near us -- we live in Bucks County, PA. He has been attening a morning class there once a week and loves it. We intend on sending him to the local school in our district for kindergarten. Roman is a very busy, happy and wonderful boy and we adore him. He can also be a little tyrant -- oh to be two! He's been a bit jealous of Lucas lately, which is to be expected, but it has been a challenge. Roman has, thankfully, been very healthy. He had a small VSD that closed on its own. Speech is the area we are working on most with him at the moment. He " talks " all day long but we can't understand him yet and he uses only a couple of signs. We think he is doing beautifully. I know there are challenges ahead -- but there will be with Lucas, too, I'm sure. I am also the co-chair for the Bucks County Down Syndrome Interest Group. It's been a great experience reaching out to other families. My husband, Joe, has his own business and works from home. That's all for us at the moment. Thanks to everyone who participates on this list! -diana -- Santoro " Can't never could. "
