Guest guest
Hi everyone, Just an update on us over here in the UK. After travelling down to London for five hours on Tuesday - we finally got ons band on Weds morning and returned after a 6 hour journey! Well on is tolerating the band while he is upright or on his tummy - but at bedtimes he hates slepping with it on - and wont stop crying - last night he had to sleep in my arms - which i never have to do, - waking up every couple of hours. This is unusual for him - as he usually a great sleeper. I know he will need time to adjust - but did everyone else out there have the same problem at first? Any tips? Also we have been told to watch out for red spots. When i took the band off last night he had pink side burns that didn't disappear - but he usually gets a little eczema there - is that what i am looking out for or am i looking for red red small spots? A little despaired and confused, Eleanor & on ( Wigan UK) __________________________________________________
Guest guest
Hi Eleanor, Sorry to hear about the sleeping problems - it is somewhat unusual to have that kind of trouble with sleeping. Hopefully it is just an adjustment issue and he'll be sleeping great again in no time. As far as the pinkness, I agree with the others that it may need to be shaved a bit to cut down on the pressure. Good luck and hopefully things will improve quickly for on. Marci (Mom to ) Oklahoma
Guest guest
Eleanor: I agree with what already has replied to you - it sounds like a trim of the band might be needed where the pink won't go away. I am sure you don't want to drive all that way again, what a bummer! Maybe see if it's any better today, try putting the band on for 1/2 hour or so then check on it? It is very rare for baby's not to sleep well in the band - hopefully on will adjust to it - give him some time and he'll hopefully go back to his good sleeping habits. I really am surprised more babies don't have a hard time sleeping in these bands, but most don't. I am sure after a few days or so, on will be sleeping normal again. Good luck - I hope everything gets straightened out. Guest guest
Hi Eleanor I am so glad that you have gotten an helmet in the UK. I lived near southampton when i noticed Dylan's head shape. The pediatrician i saw at Winchester hospital said it " would right itself " but i could go and see them again in 3 months time if needed. No help there!! I moved to Calgary, Canada anyway and got help straight away. So i am so pleased you are being helped. Dylan did have a few red spots for the first couple of days some went and i telephoned the OT for the ones that did not and i did have to go back and get the DOCBAND trimmed. As for sleeping Dylan was funny for about a week and then he was back to sleeping right through - so hopefully on will adjust. All the best and please keep us all posted. Kind regards Kerry Marcus (3) Dylan(1)- in his second band. >From: " debbieandabby " <dj2kirby@...> >Reply-Plagiocephaly >Plagiocephaly >Subject: Re: on got his band yesterday - need some advice >Date: Thu, 28 Mar 2002 14:42:48 -0000 > >Eleanor: >I agree with what already has replied to you - it sounds like a >trim of the band might be needed where the pink won't go away.
