Hey everybody again, thanks again for replying, maybe others

didn't read the post, since I titled it thanks :) So I'll ask

again-can anyone give me rationale for recasting. Seeing as how it's

been 6 weeks since Kai was originally casted, and now we are getting

a second helmet since the first's trimlines were wrong, (he thinks

otherwise okay) and orthotist is using the same cast. If Kai would

have been able to use the first helmet(or is it tech. -band) probably

the entire treatment time as we were told,(if trimmed correctly), why

would we need to recast? I'm just trying to get some rationale to

back my concern up that we need to recast. I emailed my orthotist

with my concern, but he hasn't replied yet and when I call to check

when the helmet should be in tomorrow I was going to just ask him

then. When he orig. replied that we wouldn't need to recast when I

asked, it didn't really hit me, I was so happy to hear that he was

going to get us the second helmet I guess!! I definitely want the

best for Kai, just need to know why I should worry, is it because his

head shape itself may have gotten worse, before we get the helmet? I

know they can shave etc as kids grow, so can't they do that now too?

Anyhow, if I'm being thickheaded, which is possible:) sometimes it

takes awhile to get a concept through my head!) just spell it out

again for me, please!! I'll check in the morning to see if anyone has

any wisdom before I call-thanks everyone, you're wonderful!!

I think the recasting would be a very good idea. That way there is very

little room for error in getting a good fit the second time around. I know

that it is a tough process, but it will be worth it if it means getting a

good fit.

Good luck and let us know how things go.

Hi

I agree that you should recast as Kai could have had a growth spurt in those

6 weeks. I know its not a nice process but you just don't know how much his

head shape may have altered in those 6 weeks.

All the best

Kerry

Marcus(3) Dylan(1) - in his second band
