Hi guys,

Here I am at 9 at night, reading Georgie´s school newsletter she brought

home today. As I´m reading the last page, I see her name and her 18 yr old

sisters name. I do a double take ( yes, it´S been another long week, after a

lot of long weeks, so I´m a little slow on the uptake ..)

And this is what I read ...

Shave For A Cure 2008.

Hi, I am Georgia Bartlett´s, big sister Danni, and I am having my hair

colored to help raise money for the leukemia Foundation. Georgia had Acute

Myeloid leukemia when she was 22 months old and is very lucky to be in year

5 today, even with her ongoing health problems that have been caused by her

chemo treatment and being born with Down Syndrome .AML has had a huge impact

on our family, as Ben was 12, I was 10 and Nick was 3, when Georgia was

battling this horrible disease. If anyone would like to sponsor me you can

go online to www.worldsgreatestshave.com and follow the prompts to sponsor

Danni Bartlett (in NSW) , please click on the gallery link to have a look

at my profile and the 2 really cute photo´ s of Georgie I have put up there.

Please leave a comment for me, as your support as well as your donations are

very welcome. Thank you in advance, for your ongoing support and the support

our family have received from everyone at this amazing school for the past

13 years, Danni Bartlett.

Ok, yes, I vaguely remember Dan saying something about getting her hair

colored, as she wanders by on the way to her ´gap year job´or on her way in

asking ´what´´s for dinner .. And what´s happening .. Etc

So, I jump on the website and check out her blurb.I'm sitting here with

tears running down my face. I always knew that Georgie and Danni are close,

but when I read Danni's words ( bad spelling, typing and all ). It hit me,

just how much Georgie having AML (and ds) has impacted on all our lives and

how it has made us all the people we are today.

I am so incredibly proud of who my amazing daughter is and what a fantastic

person she has turned out to be.I feel that my heart could just burst... I

know that sounds silly, but it's just how I feel.

So please, if you get a minute, please go to her profile and check it out.

If you can sponsor her, that's great but it would mean a huge amount to

Danni if you could leave a comment for her.

Thank you all for hanging in with me and sorry if I'm rambling, I've just

been totally blown away. It just goes to prove, that every kid does have a

huge impact on those around them,

Aussie
