Sorry I can't help you there because I was NPO at this point where you are

due to my leak. When can you have creamy liquids? I loved cream of chicken soup

at that point because it was warm, tasted good and was different. As a matter

of fact, I went through all the different cream of soups that I liked.

Marcella,

I ditched the list and the protein powder within hours of discharge,

I think! LOL! I was starving, waiting for the sweet time when I

could eat sort of normal and still lose weight. That time came for

me about one month out, for others it is up to two months or longer.

Meanwhile, I ate string cheese, etc. I got my " list " from Jo. Oh,

yeah, slices of deli meat, refried beans. I even did a tiny serving

of barbequed pork from my favorite chinese take-away!

Dear Marcella,

Somehow I think the post op diet rules have changed since I was

switched. I don't ever remember NOT eating what I wanted. Seems like

I didn't eat popcorn or peanuts for the first month but I certainly

ate everything and anything else that sounded good. I ate an egg

mcmuffin at the airport on the trip home - not all of it of course!

and I know I ate BBQ chicken on the day we got home - my friend made

it for us. Truly I don't remember not eating things. I don't remember

eating yogurt or applesauce. I ate eggs, meat, cheese, etc. I

followed the " lots of water, protein first, take your vitamins, no

soda, no alcohol " routine. Of course, I have never been " good " food

wise. I am a horrible dieter so I am certainly not a role model!!

Hang in there!

hugs, cindy lee

My True Confession - I just polished off a bowl of ROcky Road ice

cream - in the middle of the night! I don't reccommend this for

ANYONE!! - well, maybe Marta - wink wink!

I am on the liquid part of the diet now but

> goodness if I am not hugely hungry and want to eat!

==========================

When I was discharged from the hospital I was on a soft diet...not

liquid. I really wasn't hungry and ate because I was supposed to,

not because I was hungry. But I did get tired of foods quickly and

wanted a variety. Before you consider eating something " off " the

list...please consider that you fall into a different catagory than

Most of us...you are a revision and are at a higher rate of leak

possibilities. Why not give some of the foods on the list ,that you

normally would not like, a try...you might be surprised. I hated

yogurt before surgery...but it tasted like a dream after...so full

of flavor, cool and refreshing. Try to stick to the program as much

as possible...you want your abused tummy to heal, and you want the

max in weightloss...This won't be forever...I promise...it won't be

long until your eating a much wider variety of foods and feeling

much more satisfied.

Perhaps is we know exactly what your list of approved foods are and

what you like and Hate on that list we could come up with some Ideas

to get variety and flavor in there without straying too much from

what your supposed to be eating.

Oh, yeah, I ate protein, barely ate any carbs. I saved my carbs for

candy. YOu know, the important stuff!

lee brings up a very important point: NO ALCOHOL! Reminder to

all you guys, do not drink. No joking about this one thing. Rapid

weight loss causes a temporary hepatitis and alcohol would be very

dangerous.

I had icecream last night, too, great minds think alike! With fat-

free milk, of course. Eight gms of protein per cup.

Marcella,

Jo and Mel have valid points. I understand that some of the

revisions have had problems and it *could* have been exacerbated by

dietary indiscretion. So, under the circumstances, you should stick

to the list as closely as possible. It isn't worth risking your

health to eat incorrectly, that is for sure!

Another reason why even I,

who PRIDES herself in the art of multi-tasking,

and no doubt has been humbled,

should focus on ONE task at a time!

Picture this:

I am standing at the counter, trying to decide if I have

taken my thyroid pill and/or another pill WHILE opening the

CAT's pill, talking to my family about what THEY need to do

next, and what WE need to accomplish prior to 5PM, and

asking for one child to BRING me the darned cat that needs

a pill; all in order to get to where we are supposed to be

this evening...

I took a breathe,

and

I think I took the cat's pill!

Good grief!

ok, so Nic was on 3 kinds of medications before his heart surgery. Digoxin,

Aldactone(something like that) and Lasix. All different doses at different

times(some were 2x/day, some 3x/day). Well from the shock of finding Nic had

DS, then the heart defects, no sleep etc etc etc. I OD'ed him on the

Digoxin. I was in a panic!!!!! I thought for sure I'd killed my baby!!!!

I'm never lax when it comes to meds, now!

,

Thank you so much for your support.  Those ideas are excellent, and yes, you

nailed a lot of feelings that I am having.  I'm going to do some tapping and

see if I can get through this block.

Thanks again, it means a lot to me that you would take so much time to help me

out!

Congratulations on your promotion! AND on your fantastic success with releasing

weight! (Have you taken time to give yourself a pat on the back, and really

savor the feeling?)

I can really relate to the insecurity in the new role. And, no, I don't think

quitting would help!! LOL!

What tools are you using now, which aren't working? Have you tried EFT? That's

what jumps to mind here--

Even though I feel uncertain in my new role, I deeply and completely love and

accept myself.

Even though I feel uncertain in my new role, I still choose to be naturally

slender.

The conflict resolution download--or the early podcast about the gift--might

help you to isolate exactly which aspects of your new job are making you want to

eat. I found it very useful when I knew that I was eating (or struggling not to

eat) over work, but that wasn't enough to end the struggle. Through the conflict

resolution journey, I found that the " gift " was specifically to numb me enough

not to react in a... witchy way to certain people and situations in the office.

Once I realized what the *specific* job-related issue was, it just sort of

melted away. (Though during high-pressure times at work, I make sure to set my

intention for kindness on the way to the office!!)

I can imagine other specific issues related to a promotion.

Even though I'm afraid I'll fail...

Even though I'm afraid people won't listen to me...

Even though I want people to like me but I'll have to act as boss...

Even though part of me thinks that if I'm fat enough not to seem attractive, the

men I work with will regard me as one of the guys instead of a woman, so I might

get more respect???

Even though I don't enjoy some aspects of the new job...

Is that one true, btw? One of the things I did early on in my IOWL listening was

to look for the things at work that would make me happy NOW. Even though I was

very, very aware of the negatives, when I started to look for the positives... I

found them. A lot of them. Which affected my attitude towards those around me,

which affected they way they came through for me when I said I needed a

change....

Besides the EFT, if you identify the *specific* aspects of the new job that are

worrying you, you can find work-related resources--includin g mentors--to help

you through.

Oh, and yes, I definitely feel that there's a benefit to going back to the

beginning and listening again.

Subject: [insideoutweightlos s] True Confessions

I started listening to 's podcasts last August. Since then I have dropped

40 pounds, easily. I started running and doing pilates, which I love. But then

recently, everything has fallen apart. I haven't gained any weight back, yet,

but I cannot control my cravings, eating, or lack of desire to excercise. I

think this is because I recently got a promotion at work. I have noticed that

everytime I desire to eat more than I need, or indulge in some food that is not

what my body wants, it is because I am feeling uncertain about myself in my new

role. So, what should I do? Restart from the beginning? Quit my job (not

likely)? I feel like all the tools I'd used in the past are not working for me

anymore. So tell me, how do you re-start? I know I need to resolve my insecurity

about my new job, but I'm not sure how to do that.

Thanks for letting me share and for the support!
