Hi everyone

I have been off the list since the middle of January, having knee

surgery. I am finally back in the swing of things, and am back

receiving emails. I have been looking over messages at the site, I

have missed quite a bit, it looks like.

I had my left knee replaced January 25th. My oh my oh my.......I

have been very blessed, any pain I have experienced in my life wasn't

much, I must say this surgery really threw me for a loop. But I am

now 5 1/2 weeks post op, driving, doing almost everything I was doing

prior. My doctor did tell me not to run or jog, like I did that

before, easiest thing I have ever given up, lol.

While I was recuperating, I saw an job opening for the school nurse

position at our local elementary school. I have been looking for a

change, 20+ years of adult intensive care nursing has really been

weighing on me, I recognized I needed a change. So after much

thought, I applied for the job. Thank goodness the people I

interviewed with at the school know me from when the girls went

there, I was quite a sight hobbling in, using a cane, not to mention

I have lost 20 pounds (yeah!), and the only pants I had to wear were

threatening to fall off at any moment. Despite all of that, they

offered me the position and I accepted. It just feels right. I

started today, had a good day, and I think I will really like it.

Not to mention that the schedule is great, holidays off, no weekends,

summers off, and my fav - no night shifts.

The girls are doing well. made the A/B honor roll, and

received the character award for helpfulness for the 2nd quarter.

She also is working in the front office at school every day during

6th block and loves it. She is answering the phone, buzzing people

in the front door, helping with other office tasks. I am really glad

she is doing this, it has done wonders for her.

So I am back. I look forward to hearing how all of our kids are

doing.
