Guest guest
Helen~ That is great news with the tort. Just keep up the stretches etc! Once has those growth spurts and the head starts growing the helmet will start fitting wonderfully. That was our experience with Grace. At first it seemed like a hat that was way too big and I didn't think that was right but when those growth spurts started and the helmet and her head started to click together the rounding began! Good luck and Happy Easter and Grace
Guest guest
Helen, we had the same pads in Kendall's helmet and we always had trouble getting them to stay in. The worst was when her hair would get caught in the sticky part. Some of the pads stayed great, and some ALWAYS came loose. We had the hardest time with a pad that was on the back near her neck. We usually had it replaced with each visit. It would usually stay for at least 1-2 weeks, or maybe only one edge would be rolled up. Tell them you are having trouble with it for sure. We found that the pads were coming off when we took the helmet on and off, so we made sure to put a finger on them when we were removing the helmet (that only works if you can reach them of course). Glad M-CARE is reconsidering. I don't really think that you'll have any trouble getting it covered though once the proper paperwork is submitted. It is considered a covered service with M-CARE. I'm glad has adjusted well too. That makes it sooo much easier. Debbie ----Original Message Follows---- From: Helen Reply-Plagiocephaly Plagiocephaly Subject: Thanks for the encouragement ! Date: Sat, 30 Mar 2002 20:57:10 -0800 (PST) Hi , plagio is moderate. She probalbly will have to wear her helmet for at least 4 to 5 months. Her helmet is fitting better now, but I am having trouble keeping the pads they placed in the helmet from coming off. They were like self-adhesive pieces of sponge cut to the size needed. I've already tried super glue, but that doesn't even seem to work. I just can't wait until her head grows some more then I can take the pads out and it should fit even better. The physical therapist says I only need to come once a month for her tort because it has gotten better. She thinks will be crawling soon and will have more range of motion and this will help her neck to loosen more. Thanks! Talk to you soon! --- hags1@... wrote: > Helen~ That is so great it makes such a difference > doesn't it! I never even > thought about shaving any off until people on the > site mentioned it.
