I would also have them check his heart to make sure all is well on that front! But yes GERD can manifest that way. Micah after he would eat and have PT in school would sometimes throw up because he didn't have enought time to digest his food. Loree **************It's Tax Time! Guest guest
Yesterday at church Ben was exerted himself quite a bit. Anyway he kept telling me after that he had chest pain. He then proceeded 20 minutes later to throw up. He kept commenting about his chest hurting. The pediatrician suggested that he might have GERD even though it was a few hours after he ate. The activity might have caused it to get worse. Ben has never had any issues before that I have known about. They said now that he is over (15) and with his diet he might have developed it. I'm waiting tohear what they want to do. Does anyone else out there have any experience with GERD and what did they do about it. Any suggestions/comments would be appreciated. Thanks, M. Guest guest
This is just another name for acid reflux, isn't it? What we called indigestion when I was younger and took bicarb for. Then Madison Avenue came up with acid reflux so the pharmaceutical companies could replace bicarb with a very expensive prescription. granny, forever the cynic On Mon, Apr 14, 2008 at 10:41 AM, CINDY MATTERN <cindymattern@...> wrote: > > > > > Yesterday at church Ben was exerted himself quite a bit. Guest guest
This is another name for acid reflux. My son always complained of chest pain and would throw up after eating. This stopped when he was in about 8th grade but he would still comlapin of his chest hurting. We couldn't find a serious reason for this and his dr. said he bet he was having heartburn. Started him on Zantac 75 once a day and not a complaint since. That was a few years ago! Maybe you could ask your dr. if it's ok to try this. in MD, Mom to Angel, and Caitlyn, all uniquely-abled. Klem " The only difference between a winner and a loser is that one of them stops trying "
