Guest guest
Well I saw the movie. I read the comments from parents on the list serves. I wondered about the young girls hair as well but I remembered that quite a few of my friends children have alopecia and use wigs. I thought the movie was great. I think it really showed how a decision like the one " " made based on the thinking of the time, what happened to his sister, his beliefs as a doctor all led to a decision that basically ate him up inside thereby destroying his relationship with his wife. It was nice that in the 2 hours they to tell the story they touched on two key elements - institutions and schools. I didn't mind the ending, with the passing of " " it was a new beginning for both families. I was born in 1964 so the movie made me really think about what my parents would have done if they were told I was born with Down syndrome. I haven't read the book yet. I imagine it is hard for movie makers to figure out what to cover in a movie that slots in two hours, especial made for TV. So I am looking forward reading the book!
