Guest guest
My son, Dane, has tort and plagio. I think a lot of us are singing that song. He started pt when he was 2 months old. He only went once in November and Dec. Then in Jan, we were told by the ped that he needed to be stretched more, so we changed therapists and went weekly for a month, then biweekly. Last week we got great news that we don't have to go back for a month! Dane's tort wasn't too severe. We were told at the hospital to only lay him on his right side, so his neck muscles were damaged and he also got the flat spot courtesy of that awful advice. Keep stretching. Does your daughter see a therapist? The stretches do help. Dane's assymetry is finally getting better. He got his DOC band on Valentine's Day, my little banded lover! Good luck! Guest guest
Hi we are getting pt 3 times a week now I hope it will help. How much and how long did it take to help your facial asymmentry and at what age did you see it and how long did it take to see improvements > > Our facial and head asymmentry is all due to Torticollis. Guest guest
Dane's asymetry is starting to improve (6 months). Most people don't recognize it. He started pt in November and got his DOC Band in February. His left ear is still lower a bit than the right. I think that is more noticeable at this point than the asymmetry. > > > Our facial and head asymmentry is all due to Torticollis. Any one > > > else with a band and Torticollis out there. Guest guest
Hi, my 8 1/2 month old daughter has had tort and slight plagio since birth. OIf course, our peds kept putting our concerns off until she was about 4 months old. Currently, she has a band (1/25) and gets PT 3x a week through EI. We have seen intense improvement. Before, theraphy and the band her eyes were different sizes and one cheeck was much fuller then the other. Her ears were also misaligedn. Same story as most. Since the band her eyes are much improve (only I can notice or a dr.) Her cheeck is much better. But, I was told her cheeck was due to the tort more then the plagio and that the band will not correct it. Overall, PT and the band and strectching does wonders for our little ones. It a long road but one well worth it. Last night for the first time, when I checked on sleeping, she was on her back and her head was facing the left. Since she was born she always slept on her back and faced the right. I started crying and woke up my husband. Evidentually, during the night she went back to the right. But, what a great feeling! Take care and good luck, Dina and --- In Plagiocephaly@y..., " coenbread " <newhomesrollingcreek@s...> wrote: > Our facial and head asymmentry is all due to Torticollis. Guest guest
Hi - I completely understand the tears when you saw your daughter moved her head to the left! I cried too when my daughter moved her head more freely. Congratulations and Good Work!!
