Guest guest
Hi all, I had a scare this morning. I woke at 6.40 AM with my right hand in a tetany like spasm or "claw fist". The hand was stiff. There was no feeling in the fingers, almost like it did not belong to me. I had no tingling -- I never do. I could not move it -- I think. But, on moving, the change of position allowed blood flow. Within less than a minute, it was feeling and looking normal. I did have tetany symptoms last night and had my Magnesium/Calcium/Vitamin-D tabs to take, but had fallen asleep. Also, this used to happen to me years ago. However, I never knew why back then One of the effects of Spironolactone on me, is my EDS skin is somewhat MORE dehydrated and super soft. I can find no literature on the drug for EDSers. In the past, I could wake up with soft under-arm skin, meaning my arm would be "dead" if I slept wrong. But with what I now know, I wonder if it is my hand asleep from poor circulation due to low BP or a TIA of seconds? Of interest is how it was only the right hand fingers. When I checked my BP, it was up. I was in a crisis with my Autonomic Dysreflexia. I had full bladder/bowel gas. After voiding and all, the BP dropped in minute to 96/46/63. After another spike and drop I had recovered. This type of labile hypertension happens every day/24-7. But not the hand numbness, and never this bad. Not even as severe as my stroke in 2004. The left leg problem is an old one. All numbness started with the spironolactone that I started 1/26/06006.
