Where do you go for it? My good friend's sister is Dr. Upledger's

secretary or assistant or something. She works for him directly. She

doesn't do treatment, though. Anyway, I recently thought about

calling her to get him an appointment in West Palm Beach (we moved

to Texas from there and my in-laws live there), with Upledger.

What would they do and how does it help? Email me if you want!

Thanks!

Ana

I believe somewhere on that website you can find people in your

area. I had a pamphlet on it, but my 2 year old keeps finding it

and running off with it. I don't understand why she likes that

particular one! Anyhow I think it said that cranialsacral therapy

can be done by ceritified pt, ot, massotherapists, etc.

Ana,

Just wanted to share that my son received cranialsacral therapy from his

regular pt. Some have taken courses on this and it really helped to relax

. The idea is to use the energy in one's own body and it looks a lot

like meditation (thought nothing was happening really!). She would place her

hands in certain points and you could see ' shoulders, neck, head,

chest just kind of drop in relaxation! I would recommend it as I think it

helped in connection with everything else.

From the Upledger.com website, here is a definition:

CST is a gentle, hands-on method of evaluating and enhancing the

functioning of a physiological body system called the craniosacral

system - comprised of the membranes and cerebrospinal fluid that

surround and protect the brain and spinal cord.

Using a soft touch generally no greater than 5 grams, or about the

weight of a nickel, practitioners release restrictions in the

craniosacral system to improve the functioning of the central nervous

system.

By complementing the body's natural healing processes, CST is

increasingly used as a preventive health measure for its ability to

bolster resistance to disease, and is effective for a wide range of

medical problems associated with pain and dysfunction, including:

Migraine Headaches

Chronic Neck and Back Pain

Motor-Coordination Impairments

Colic

Autism

Central Nervous System Disorders

Orthopedic Problems

Traumatic Brain and Spinal Cord Injuries

Scoliosis

Infantile Disorders

Learning Disabilities

Chronic Fatigue

Emotional Difficulties

Stress and Tension-Related Problems

Fibromyalgia and other Connective-Tissue Disorders

Temporomandibular Joint Syndrome (TMJ)

Neurovascular or Immune Disorders

Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder

Post-Surgical Dysfunction

I bring my 3 month old daughter, Rhiannon, and she shows great

improvement each time we go - she can move more freely, etc. The

first time I brought her to a c-s therapist, her olive-sized knot in

her scm muscle disappeared. I don't know exactly what they did, but

it worked!

Good luck,
