Has anyone ever heard of such a thing? I have!!! I have!!! Actually, I THOUGHT I had read it here, I guess not. I was the bitter reflections of a young man who ended up having an implant put in after dealing with all sorts of angst and psychological torture. If I sound a bit cynical here it is because the letter had strong overtones of "poor me" and "the world has done me wrong". Be that as it may, this guy had it done in his mid-twenties and he says for the first time he could wear a baseball cap, & c, & c. Guest guest
Jill: Maybe you did hear it here, was it the guy who joined in here several mos ago? And talked about his football helmets never fitting right, etc....he also really really recommended for members to band their child now? I cannot remember his name right now! I remember him talking about getting the plagio fixed in his 20's, but was it w/those implants? Guest guest
That is completely amazing! Do you know what they used as the implant. I can't imagine it would be saline. That would be a real problem if your football helmet didn't fit correctyl. I would think that could be dangerous. > > In a message dated 4/11/2002 7:01:26 PM Pacific Daylight Time, > > Plagiocephaly@y... writes: > > > > > > > They insert a head implant into the skin, just > > > like a breast implant. Guest guest
Great memory Jill!! I had totally forgotten that someone did have implants inserted. Here is the post: From: " jason s " <scubaj357@...> Date: Mon Nov 12, 2001 11:29 pm Subject: Re: S to answer DangerLeigh's Mommy question I am just turned 27 years old and I just had the surgery on July 30 2001. I actually flew back and forth from Phoenix to San Diego to see my specialist. At my age all that could be done was to fabricate an implant that would make my head look more normal. So Basically the surgeon made a nice 6 inch incision in the back of my head. Then he attached the implant with screws that went in to my skull. If I feel my head I can feel the implant. They say it will take a while to settle. All I can say is I can now put on a cap, and IT FITS! You cant imagine waiting 27 years to finally wear a baseball cap. I am open to any and all questions. By the way you can tell your insurence boys to call me. I will get in the ring with them. Guest guest
I was wondering if it would be too untactful to get in touch with that guy and ask him how he is doing now. That is very nice to know that there is another solution in case it is needed. > In a message dated 4/11/2002 7:01:26 PM Pacific Daylight Time, > Plagiocephaly@y... writes: > > > > They insert a head implant into the skin, just > > like a breast implant.
