Our son started at 9 months and wore his first band for a little

under 5 months. He got approx. 60 to 65 percent correction which

made a huge difference in his appearance. He was rated mod./severe

also. He has been in his second band for a little over a month and I

have seen additional improvement so hoping to end up in maybe the 80

percent correction range at the end.

Hi S. & welcome to our group!

It really is very hard to say how much improvement your son will

get. It all depends on growth spurts. That's a great sign that

you've already seen improvement after just 2 wks., things are moving

in the right direction! My daughter began her DOC treatment at 11.5

mos with severe plagio, we were able to get 50-60% correction with

one band in 4.5 mos time.

Please, keep us updated on your son's progress, time will go by fast,

especially once his head really starts to improve. Best of luck.

Hello and welcome to the group! My twins started wearing their

STARbands at about 8 months old, and they received about 85-90%

correction, however they were only diagnosed as mild and

mild/moderate. The rate of correction depends on the severity of the

plagio and how many growth spurts the child hits. Your son is still

at a really great age to see some terrific improvements. Plus the

fact that you are already seeing some results is a really good sign,

you're that much closer to a rounder head. Good luck to you and your

son!
