Hi !! Of course I remember you, silly!

Congrats on your upcoming baby as well! :o)

You know, I am worried about a second round of plagio. If Hanna's had set in in the weeks/months following her birth, I wouldn't fuss as much, but knowing that she was squished at birth leads me to believe that maybe there isn't much room in there! It also worries me that #2 is a boy. Won't that make him bigger than Hanna was at birth??? Aren't boys generally bigger at birth than girls?? Well, maybe Hanna got everything all stretched out for him in there!! ;o)

I'm not going to invest in any positioners or anything until I know whether or not his head is crooked or if I notice him favouring one side. I will, however make sure I use any sort of bouncy seat, car seat, swing, etc as little as possible, like I did with Hanna. Of course these things become necessary at busy times, so I won't be sending them to the trash just yet! I'll probably try out a sling, or invest in a quality front carrier this round. The carrier I had with Hanna was cheap and very inconvenient!! When she was brand new, I had to practically pull her out of the thing by her head!!! Poor thing! This time I will find one that OPENS!!!

Well, those are my plans - at least for now. What about you? Make sure you pop in to tell us what you have come June!!! I just love hearing about little babies! :o) Good luck, and take care!

Kendra - Baby on the way, worried about plagio??

Hi Kendra, Remember me? I'm still lurking around outhere in plagio land! I check in frequently and readsubject lines but don't post too often. First of all, Congratulations, I "hear" baby boy is onthe way. I too am pregnant ... due in June with babynumber two. I'm curious .... are you worried aboutplagio with the new baby? Are you going to purchaseany of the sleep positioners or other products thathave been mentioned in past posts? I'm a littleparanoid ..... when we had the ultrasound at 20 weeks,my husband said the baby's head didn't look completelyround. He was joking, I think! Anyway, didn't knowif you or any of the other members out there had anyadvice for me. Take care and good luck! I guess it makes sense to just wait and see. I may

end up purchasing one of those " thingies " that you put

in the car seat and or bouncy seat. (I hate being so

paranoid.) I have a good front carrier that

never liked ... I think the key is to start using it

right away. I will keep you posted. Thanks for your

post!

Yes, I was referring to the Noggin Nest. Also, I just

spotted in one of my catalogs, the Head N' Back to

Sleep foam mat. Do you know anything about this

product?

I've heard of it, but haven't actually seen one. It looks pretty good. Let me know how you like it!

Thanks Debbie. It's hard not to worry. If there is

anything I can do to try to prevent this problem I

hate not to do it. There was a post a few weeks ago

about a second baby having plagio ... that freaked me

out a little. I have a tilted uterus and I've always

wondered if that contributed to 's plagio. Who

knows .... Hope all is well with you and your family!

I have seen the head and back to sleep - as the child turns their head from

side to side, the foam condenses to decrease the pressure - looks like it

could be a good device - it is made by Basic Comfort - I have been using the

Safe and Sound by them with many of my patients with good results at helping

to reduce plagiocephaly (works as a back and sidelyer) so this one may be

good for prevention. I have also seen a device at Target - can't remember

the name - but was marketed to reduce the occurance of plagio - hope this

helps - tracy (pt)
