appointment with cranial tech

hi! i wanted to thank everyone who responded to my questions about

waiting another month to see if continuing repositioning improved

emma's plagio. i've called cranial tech in charlotte, NC (about a 3

hour drive from me) and we have an appointment for an evaluation on

friday. i also called the neurosurgeon at Duke and asked that he mail

me a prescription so i will have it if we opt for the helmet. and i am

leaning in that direction.

it is so hard to know what to do when the doctors keep telling you it

will round out on its own, and her ears will line up on their own.

emma had her 6 month well baby appointment this past friday and her

pediatrician said her flat head was looking rounder (it is not) and in

another 2 months it would be back to normal. of course, we don't see

him again until her 9 month well baby visit, and i'm not going to wait

that long to decided what to do. i didn't even bother mentioning that

we had seen the neurosurgeon at Duke and that we were considering the

helmet. i had always thought doctors knew best. my eyes are opened

now!

i suppose the next step is begining the fight with my insurance

company. any experiences with blue cross/blue shield?

thanks again for all the advice. i don't get to read all the emails

(between working full time and all our doctors, PT, craniosacral

therapy, etc. appointments, and taking care of an infant - there's

just not much time), but i do appreciate everything i've learned from

this group!
