Note from Barbara Laird:

This is the summer of the petitions and advocacy.

I personally know so many young adults who have an IQ at or above 70

who totally need support. Their families are disheartened and

exhausted with continuing to help support them in all areas of their

lives.

IQ should never be used as a criteria for anything for anyone. It

origionally was never meant to even be used for most of the

individuals we subject to these tests.

If these adults do not get the support and services they need, they

will continue to never reach their potential, and many will become

even a bigger financial burden in society. Our society will have lost

the potential and gifts they have to give. What a waste of " people

resources. "

Sorry, I get carried away on this issue. If you do not have an

individual with a disability in your family, we who do, so totally

appreciate your support. Sometimes families feel so lost, alone and

don't feel that anyone really cares about these issues. Please

consider signing this, and passing it on to your family and

friends. This is such an important issue, yet again.

Many thanks

Barbara Laird
