Guest guest
Judi, The NICU renunion sounded like so much fun! I wish The NICU that my twins were in would have one. You really do grow close to those people. I know when we finally went home after the NICU stay, I almost felt like a part of me was missing after going there daily for two months. It was the strangest feeling. Sounds like you had a wonderful weekend. Waht type of ESY program does your district offer? Just curious?? My district doesn't offer one so I really like to ehar what others are doing. mom to Landon (DS) and Ashton 35 months --- Judi Grossman <judig2@...> wrote: > Good Monday Morning to you all! Guest guest
Timbo is turning 50 on the 30th of the month and is retiring from the federal government on that day. I had a birthday/retirement party for him yesterday and even two of his childhood friends made it. TJ is home from Iraq on leave - but he's going back to Georgia in the morning to spend the last few days alone with his wife. is here but also leaving in the morning-only for me to follow her down on Thursday evening. She is pregnant again (Yippeeee!) so I'll be headed out to Texas in February. Anyway, this is the last time we'll probably have all four kids under our roof for a long time. I took two days off to clean it and now I need two more days to clean it again )))) and I head to Kennedy Krieger tomorrow to see the neurologist. Guest guest
Yep, Dakota had meningitis three summers ago.? It was a very scary thing, especially the doctors in the ER's, and yep, plural ER's kept saying he didn't have it.?? One guaranteed it, by looking at him.? The spinal tap came back positive, and the rest if? history, but we were very lucky.? No lasting effects.? There could have very well have been had we not thrown so many fits to get him tested and started on meds.? They would probably have waited until he was, well, enough.? Good luck at the doc, and , congrats, Grammy! Beth, Mom to Austin, 11/ds and Dakota, 11/Mouthy and the proud owner of 2 muscle stitches and 14 skin stitches Thursday, while he is spending 3 weeks 19 hours away from mom and dad.? Well, they both are! Re: Our weekend Loree - I can't believe we are going to miss each other by two days. Dr. Capone once told me the enlarged cistrerna magna is common in people with DS (showed up on s MRI years ago). The meningitis piece definately could have a huge impact on Micah. We still don't know why Hayley died, but I joined a meningitis board shortly after her death and have learned how damaging that illness can be on individuals who survive. I think is overdue for a new MRI and EEG. Can't wait for this coming weekend to hear how the KKI visit went for you all. -- cindysue@... We leave on Wed. morning for Kennedy Kreiger. Will be there through Friday. Micah may be having an MRI as well as sleep study. When he had his neuropsych eval the doctor found that he had something called a Magna Cisterna from the MRI's that he had done when he was newborn and had meningitis. He asked if he had any follow up MRI's ( which he did not even though his doctors had all his info) and said we should have this done. It would explain why it is so difficult for him to attain reading skills (alphabet etc.). He said he was amazed at how well Micah was doing considering this fact. Said that it was a testament to what we have been doing with him (made me feel a lot better as I always feel we are not doing enough) and that he shouldn't be doing a lot of what he is doing. It will be interesting to see what a new MRI shows. Loree ---------------------------------------------------------- Get fantasy football with free live scoring.
