Guest guest
The Neurosurgeon is a young guy and was super nice.He said that Luke's Brachycephaly is mild & still correctable IF we can keep him off that flat spot.Looking at earlier pics of him I can plainly see the torticollis but at the time it was easy to mistake it for floppy newborn head.I did bring it up to the Ped in Feb when I took him in concerned about the flat spot. She brushed it off, saying that all babies prefer one side over another. It should have been a red flag to her.It took me putting 2 & 2 together to get him some help. And to think I've been accused of reading too much! So,I have found a different positioner to keep him sleeping on his side instead of his back and hopefully this one is big enough to keep him from laying on it! There are 4 stretching exercises we have to do 10x twice a day.He goes back to the Neuro in 3 months and if it hasn't rounded out then he will most likely be fitted for a band/helmet. BTW,the Neuro didn't do anything but look at his head and measure the circumference. Kelli
Guest guest
Kelli: I am happy to hear you can try repositioning - you are a wonderful mom!! Great job finding all of this infromation on your OWN. That's really a shame! Please let us know how repositioning works for Luke. Best of luck with it. Also, good luck with the tort stretches & exercises.
