Guest guest
Hi Guys, The Merrymakers are a group of dancers all with disabilities and a lot of them have ds. A documentary on them was shown on Aussie TV tonight, so please check it out at www.abc.net.au/tv/enoughrope and their website is www.themerrymakers.com au. But be warned, I´ve still got tears running down my face nearly an hour after the show finished. Don´t just buy the box, buy shares in the company, cos I think you´ll need them, I know I did. Wow, these guys just blew me away, let me know what you think about them, Aussie

Guest guest
Thanks so much, Cas - I did see it, finally, and it is a tearjerker - I wish there were something like that in every city! We do have a dance class here in Central Ohio for kids with special needs. The very ironic thing is that I signed Olivia up for the first eight weeks and she loved it. I told a friend of mine about it, her daughter with ds is a year older than Livi. She signed up for the next session too, and has some behavior issues. Well, pulled Olivia's hair three times in the second class - even with helpers around, she was just so fast, the last time Livi fell on the floor, to stop it from hurting, I think - and after that Livi wouldn't go back. She would tell us no she didn't want to go, and when we went anyway, it didn't change her mind, and when she saw again, that was the end. She gets upset if we say 's name! The director was so understanding about the whole thing, we talked about it, and she sent us a frefund, and said if we ever wanted to try it again without in class, she would arrange it. I don't know if livi would forget though. But, I just remembered recently about a cheering class (or whatever they're called) that I could look into.
