{{{BIG HUGS}}} Coming your way Sandi. It just seems so sad that this is how our

system works. I keep praying that one day someone will figure out a way to undo

all these unjust ways of dealing with health issues. The only way I can make

sense out of all of it is that the people who made these rules and laws have

never dealt with a illness that has kept them or a family member from living a

normal healthy life. Have you spoke to your local congressman?? Maybe there is

some resources in your area that haven't been tapped?? Please know our prayers

are with you and .~MG and Zachary

Sandi,

I was so disappointed to hear about this. I know how much you need the income.

I had a brainstorm & it may not help you today, but it could soon. . .call your

intake

person back & ask when the income scale is adjusted for either cost of living or

a new

federal poverty level guideline. This scale is almost always adjusted on a

yearly

basis. I can't remember off-hand what fiscal year the feds are on in these

terms, but

the woman at SSI should be able to tell you.

Then, cross your fingers that you don't get an increase in disability at the

same time.

I'll be praying for you!

sinusitis, and allergies), and Duncan (12 months)

Dear Sandy,

I am so sorry that SSI did not work out. I know that expenses are high

when you have a chronic illness and the often times the government doesn't

factor in the need for non prescription medications, special foods, and other

environmental equipment such as air conditioners and/or HEPA filters. Not to

mention the fact that can't go to school so you must want to do

something special for him to make up for that. It sounded like the paperwork

aspect of the application and appeal was a nightmare too.

I know that here in Massachusetts we have a disability advocate center

which has lawyers and paralegals on staff to help advocate for people with

disabilities. I don't know if you have already approached a similar

organization in your state but if you haven't it might be worth a try.

Sandi:

I'm so sorry to hear about the SSI. $60 over the limit? Jeez, I know they

have to draw the line somewhere but that seems like such a shame to get so

close.

previously had transient IgG, IgA, t-cell & other defs)

Sandi, I was sorry to hear about 's SSI. Did you consult with a

lawyer? Just wondered, seems to me that there has to be a loop hole

somewhere! Bummer is right.

Hi I didn't know there was a good local, natural healthful restaurant in town!

Which ones are the other good spots in town?

Thanks!

BUMMER

Chet's Taverna is no more. Closed. Fini. Nada. What a shame.

I'm hoping Chef Mike will resurface somewhere else in the Twin Cities where

he can spread his knowledge of local, sustainable, natural and healthful foods

to the community.

We sure lost one of the few gems we have. Meanwhile let's all do our best to

patronize and generously support the other good spots in town. Otherwise it's

Applebee's uber alles.

Hey.. how about Airbrushing?He

LOL!!! I am all for airbrushing at my age. No I think they only do that

stuff for important people. Takes time and money and they are not going to do

it for me. Besides the swelling is pretty bad so it would be really hardto

fix that also. But hey just that they were interested makes me happy. Guess

GOd has another plan!

Okay guys I get to share exciting news and bummer news. The exciting

news is that as magazine I read called MORE for women over 40 had a

contest looking for the " Gamma Woman " A woman of today I think!

ANyway you had to tell them why you were a Gamma women and send a

photo in. I made it to the semi finals went to the city and had a

photo shoot and interview. Got a call last Thursday that they wanted

me to be a " Gamma Woman " I was to go in this thursday for my " shoot "

into Manhatten. I was so excited because I talked about raising

special needs kids and the state of SPED in this country. I got the

call thursday morning. Thursday night my mother wanted something out

of my high cabinet in the kitchen and I climbed up to get it and

someone had turned the ceiling fan on behind me and,,,,whack I got

whacked in the face and the fan sliced through my upper lip. I spent

the evening at the ER with a plastic surgeon. Needless to say I

won't be doing the photo shoot on Thursday but I just wanted to share

my good news with someone. I was gonna wait til after it was done

and hope that it would be a tribute to us " special " mothers

everywhere. I have since written a letter to the editor in hopes

that maybe she will pick up the interest and write an article (a girl

can dream can't she) on what we go through. So if any of you see

the " Gamma Women " campaign...know that I almost got to represent us

all!

Can't they do a photo shoot of just one side of your face? Or..the back side

or...

something?

Hey.. how about Airbrushing???

Well, congrats anyway!!!

I have been standing on a ladder, painting, and moved back into a celing fan.

Luckily, it was the back of my head, which is very hard :) I was knocked off

the ladder, though!!

But CONGRATS!!!!! for your achievement!!
