Guest guest
Hello Group! We are the family from Alabama. We've just joined the group and I wanted to introduce our family. I'm and my husband is Collin, we currently have no children. At this time we do not have anyone in our immediate family with Down Syndrome that we are aware of. You may be wondering then why did we join this particular group since we do not have any family members with Down Syndrome. The answer to that is because we are adopting. Not only are we adopting but we are going to be adopting a child with Down Syndrome. My husband and I have been trying to get pregnant since we got married. We spent 2 years trying to get pregnant under the care of reproductive doctors and were not successful. We began looking into adoption in March of this year and decided that yes, it was the right thing to do. In July of this year we were led to Reece's Rainbow, an International Down Syndrome Orphan Ministry. We feel in love with many of the children and after reading stories from other families who have biological and/or adopted children with Down Syndrome we knew that this is what we were called to do. We look forward to learning from the other families in this group, as well as, sharing advice and experiences.
