Guest guest
- I talked to my brother today. He is a lawyer and on Congressional staff. He wanted to know if the Cook county case -vs BCBS was in federal or state court. He said if it was in federal court, it can apply toward our appeals. Since our policies are through our employers they are under federal jurisdiction. If UHC still doesn't pay after all of our appeals, we can go through the Department of Labor. I know we will get them to pay, we might just have to be big pains in the arses about it. I'm one of those everyday, so I don't mind! Guest guest
, You're exactly right -- this *is* my life and I can't afford to wait any longer. I plan to call both of my insurance carriers on Monday. I'm very good at being a pest, so that won't be a problem. <grin>
Guest guest
If I can get group coverage, like through work I can be covered because I was covered under another plan for achalasia so they can’t deny me. But neither me nor my hubby have insurance through our work. I’m only part time and he is a contractor. So that kinda shoots that one down LOL. I think our health insurance system needs help, don't you? How long has it been since you've been covered by insurance? I recall hearing that if you don't have a lapse in coverage, you can't be denied coverage. Was that you that told me that? Anyway, it's probably too late for you on that one! Still hoping you'll find the company that will cover you! in Michigan

If either of you are members of a union, professional association, club, or other organization they may be able to help you with group coverage. You could even try places such as Sam's Club and Costco. I don't know if it counts as group coverage through them but it can't hurt to ask. notan
