Guest guest
Debbie (aka soon to be Bahama mama I forget how old Kendall is now, but is she old enough for a little umbrella to hold? Some kids think its fun, but I don't know if she's too little for that. If she is, you could hold one while holding her to make sure the sun is not beating down on that little noggin as much as possible. Have a great time!! Guest guest
Hmmm, I'm not sure about the powder question. I vaguely recall someone saying something about Gold Bond at some point, but I'm not sure about that. We always rubbed a little cornstarch into 's helmet, but not all helmet/band makers recommend anything like that. As far as the sunblock thing goes I really don't know about that either. allowed us to put a hat over her helmet to block her from the sun. I guess I haven't been of too much help!! I did what to say that I hope you have a GREAT time in the Bahamas. I would consider taking the band off when Kendall is going to be in the sun for an extended period of time. It won't hurt her one bit on a special occassion to have the band off for more then one hour! (even a couple of times during your vacation!!) Have fun! Guest guest
We are going on vacation to the Bahamas in 3 weeks to visit family. So Kendall we be immediately subjected to 80 degree weather and lots of sunshine (very different from Michigan weather, although I must say it has been nice the last few days). She always sweats in her helmet even when it is cold, and she's been wearing a helmet or DOCband since last July so the sweating isn't related to needing an adjustment period. She's just sweaty! Anyone have any suggestions on a good sunscreen that isn't too greasy? I don't want anything really mucking up her band. CT said to use sunscreen on her head (she's still pretty bald) and face to avoid a " helmet tan " , but I don't want it to be too yucky on her or the band. Anyone have any suggestions for a good one to use? Unfortunately, she won't wear a hat over her band. She likes her band, but still hates hats. Go figure! Second question is that CT also told us about a powder we could use to help with the sweating, and I can't remember the name. It wasn't cornstarch, but had a brand name, and I was told I could get it from the pharmacist. Anyone know what this is? If I hear it again, I'll know it, but I'm just drawing a blank. Thanks for any suggestions! Debbie and Kendall
