Guest guest
Andy, I think you will be very pleased with the treatment your child receives at CT. They are very good at what they do. Hopefully you will get a transfer back as soon as possible. I'll keep my fingers crossed! By the way - where in Germany are you stationed? I have a fried who leaves Friday to join her husband in Germany where he has just been stationed. I believe he is in Garmisch (not sure of the spelling). Guest guest
Thanks for the help. I received lots of good info from many people. I e-mailed Dr Blecher who is a German doctor affiliated with the cranio-helmet in the web site you listed. He was very helpful and even looked at pictures of my son's head and gave me his opinion of what he saw - nonsynostotic plagiocephaly which is also what we heard from our local Dutch pediatrician based on x-rays. Unfortunately for me, Dr. Blecher is over 5 hours from where we are plus he no longer uses the FDA approved DOC band. We also went to a local German neurosurgeon who wanted to schedule my son for surgery right away. Interesting the different opinions that you can get, and being in a different country really makes it fun! Bottom line - I sent my wife and kids back to the States yesterday. They have an appointment with Dr. O'Brien in Atlanta on Monday and then they will hopfully be sent to the CT clinic there. It looks like the military may ship me back to the States early since they can't provide comparable medical treatment in our local area. Then I begin my fight with TRI Care for DOC band treatment!! Guest guest
Andy, Glad to hear that you were able to send the family off to CT in Atlanta! I think you'll find CT to be very professional, and be sure to look for before and after pics, they will amaze you and reassure you all at the same time! Good luck to you all and please keep us posted! ' Mom
