Guest guest
Hi Andy, My daughter Mya is in a DOC band. Tricare has denied us. We still have not received the official denial letter they were supposed to mail to us. But I have contacted several senators and congressmen on this issue. And so one of them Senator Helms had gotten a fax from Tricare with my so called denial letter they said they mailed me. ANyway on that fax it states that the DOC band is an exclusion to the policy on Orthotic devices. (It is in a classification with foot inserts!!) Anyway so Cranial Tech I guess sent a bill to Tricare and Tricare then denied the claim so they sent me a Explanation of Benefits. Which on the bottom where the reason is for denial it says. THis claim for this durable medical equipment has been denied because it is available for loan at your local military treatment facility. WEll noooo its not! SO they arent sure whether they are denying it as an orthotic device or durable medical equipment. ALl they know is there just denying it. If you have any other questions about Tricare I will try to help as much as I can. I am still battling this one myself.
