I didn't take my 2.5 year old to the casting - it's a long appointment and you really don't need any distractions. I showed her pictures later and she was a little concerned about what happened to her Sammy and Sara. She also sometimes has a hard time when the twins get so much attention, so if I can avoid one of those situations with her, then I do. I do take her to my weekly follow-up appointments. She enjoys playing with the toys at CT and she is a good distraction for the twins. They stare at her and hold their heads still long enough for them to be evaluated. Good luck with the casting!

Take 2.5 year old to CT Visit?

& Winn have their appointment on Monday, 5/13 at 3:00 pm at the Atlanta CT for their casting. We have opted to pay on a payment plan while we fight the insurance appeal. Just didn't want to lose any more time. CT was terrific about working out the money issue - they really do care about the kids. My question is, My husband thinks it is okay to take Lilly with us to the appt. rather than leaving her with a babysitter. My mom thinks it may lead to nightmares for Lilly as she is 2.5 yrs. old., so leave her with a babysitter. Any thoughts? Also, my mom called this a.m. and said she would like to be here for the casting - so she'll be here Monday a.m. Yippy! I am actually relieved. Nothing like having a Mom around. Besides we can celebrate a belated Mother's Day! Thank you for taking time out to help me on babysitter issue.Bonnie For more plagio info

I think you would be better off with the sitter. The casting can be pretty emotional for both the babies and yourself! It would probably better for Lilly to see your smiling faces once it's all over! :o)

Bonnie:

I would personally leave my 2.5 yr old with a babysitter if

available. You'll have your hands plenty full as it is having twins

getting casted, you don't want to have to worry about Lilly too!

That's great your mom will be able to go with you! You'll need all

the help & support you can get.

I am happy you were able to set up pymt plans with CT, they really

are a great group. I hope you have luck with your ins. battle. Good

luck. Please let us know how the casting goes Monday.

Hi Bonnie

I took my 3 year with me for the first cast as i did'nt have a

babysitter.Marcus got upset as he thought the OT was hurting his baby. He

did'nt forget it for a while as when we went for the bi-weekly check ups he

tried to hit the OT with his T-Rex toy. So needless to say i did't take him

with me when Dylan has his second casting. This is just my experience but if

you can leave lilly with someone i think it would be better. Good luck with

the casting. Keep us posted.

Best wishes

Bonnie,

I say get the babysitter. We have had lots of people who took older siblings

along and I don't think it has usually been a good thing. It can be very

upsetting for the older sib to see their younger sibs going through such an

experience. Sooooo glad to hear that your mom is coming - that will surely

make it easier!!
