Guest guest
I don't post here a lot but I try to keep up with everyone and their happenings. I have 3 sons with DS 20, 18 and 12. One is my bio son, another adopted from Colombia and the other guy came to us because he aged out in the foster care system. We just got back from Special Olympics State Games late last night so we are taking it easy today. We live in Idaho and I'm not sure if there is even a such thing as respite care. My boys do qualify for Developmental Services up to 30 hours a week. That can be helpful. Our summer plans consist of lots of mini vacations and moving my oldest so to college. He is playing football for Weber State and has to report in July. I would love to hear what options families have in other states when young people turn 18. In Idaho we can become a paid provider or place them with a paid provider or a specialized home. There are not many good places here and most of the specialized homes are a joke.
