Guest guest
Niki, I really don't know- I'm such a brand new mom about everything!!! I hope little Danny is ok and that maybe its just a toy he (or Kaylie) banged on his nose. hit the same spot by his eye twice, so maybe he's playing with the same toy that he keeps hitting his nose? I hope its not broken!!! Please let us know what the Doc says! Thinking of you and sending big hugs for an " all better " boo-boo!
Guest guest
Hi all, sorry for the off topic post. I was wondering, does anyone know if it is possible for a 21 month old to break their nose, or is it still the soft cartilidge in there? My twins share a room and are now in toddler beds. They usually play for a bit before they actually fall asleep, which I am fine with. However, yesterday and today, I would have to run upstairs because Danny is screaming hysterically. And both times he has had blood *running* out of his nose. He doesn't suffer from nose bleeds any other time, so I know he is doing something up there to harm himself (or its Kaylie doing the harming) Yesterday, he didn't develop any black eyes or a lot of swelling so I didn't think it was broken. Its still too soon to tell today if he is going to have some swelling or bruising, but he did bleed a considerable amount more today. I think I need to set up a video camera in their room to see what those two are up to! Our doctors appointment isn't until 3:30 and I am going a bit insane wondering what is going on with my little guy. Any words of wisdom will be greatly appreciated! Guest guest
OMG Niki! I am really not sure either, but I think if it was broken, he would have bruised around his eyes by now. Gosh, I hope it's not broken. Please let us know what you find out at the Drs.. Guest guest
Oh no!!! Poor Danny! I have no idea if little ones can break their noses or not. Hanna's nose still seems pretty soft to me. I hope everything is OK with him!! Let us know! Kendra (OT) Anyone Know? Hi all, sorry for the off topic post. Guest guest
Thanks everyone for your replies. Danny's nose is a little swollen, but not broken. My pediatrician really feels that Danny's nose bleeds are the results of his sinus passages being dried out. He says it is very common for the nose bleeds to occur while laying down or sleeping. I still really think that he has banged his nose, which might not have been hard, but it might have been enough to aggravate his dry sinuses. So the ped recommends that before Danny Boy lays down, I apply vaseline (with a q-tip) up his nose to moisturize the inside. If he still continues to get nosebleeds, then we will have to take him to an ENT specialist. AND, after having a brief conversation with my 6 year old, my ped has informed me that little Kev needs speech therapy. He doesn't articulate his 'R's enough, which doesn't surprise me one bit since I was the same way when I was younger. The ped says to wait until the fall, and if he hasn't improved by then, it will be time to start therapy. You know, between Patch, Kaylie & Danny just getting over pink eye, Danny's nose bleeds, and learning my oldest will need speech therapy, I am SO ready for a vacation!! Thanks for listening to me vent, and for all the well wishes you sent Danny's way! Niki Kaylie & Danny (STAR grads) Phila., PA > Hi all, sorry for the off topic post. Guest guest
Niki, Glad to hear Danny's nose isn't broken. I'm sure he'll just love having you stick vaseline up his nose! You definitely have your hands full. If you can, try to take a little time for yourself. You deserve it! (Allyson's mom) > > Hi all, sorry for the off topic post.
