Ann,

I have to say first what a doll Livia is!! I agree with Kendra that she looks

like she may have a slight crossbite although if I wasn't looking for it I

probably wouldn't notice it. If you are concerned there are pediatric

" dentists " out there and you might be able to take Livia in for a

consultation.

Good luck and let us know what you find out.

Anne:

Livia is so cute! :o)

It looks like she has a cross-bite. It may be plagio related, but it's hard to say. I have a cross-bite, a lot like Livia's, but I didn't have plagio!

The dentists always wanted to put me in braces when I was younger, but my parents weren't financially in a position to get them. I can't say that I have any major jaw problems now. The odd clicking or headache, but rarely.

You might want to take her to see a baby friendly dentist. Try at the University Hospital. I know our Children's hospital has a kid's dental clinic. Or maybe you could find something at the Canadian Dental Association web site?? I've found some good stuff there!

Let us know what you find out.

Oh, and there is a link in the bookmarks section that gives a brief explanation of TMJ.

Livia update: jaw is misaligned?

Hi everyone.

I have noticed that Livia's jaw is slightly misaligned since graduating from

her DOC band in December/01. I know plagio can cause TMJ, but I am not

actually sure what it is I am looking for.lol Can you all take a look at the pic

and tell me what you think. Am I being overly paranoid? In the picture, she

is smiling her regular smile and her teeth do not meet in the middle as they

are supposed to. Has anyone else had this happen? Could it just be because

of her teeth and not jaw related?
