Guest guest
Hi Marci: I have a question for you as you used a locally made helmet. What side did they have the velcro strap on - the side that was flat? or the other side? Did you have trouble getting a good fit? I have had to bring Rhia in every 2-3 days lately (the good thing is that her head is changing rapidly as she is only just 4 months old), the bad thing is that I am taking her all the time and can't seem to get a good fit. Just getting a feel for your experience as I am at times a bit frustrated. Thanks, , Rhiannon's mom
Guest guest
, We did use a locally made helmet, but it did not have any velcro. It was kind of like a football helmet. I think it is kind of unusual to need quite as many adjustments as you have needed, although several adjustments right up front is not uncommon. It could be due to the fact that Rhia's head is changing and growing so rapidly. Everytime your baby experiences any significant growth adjustments will be necessary! If you are noticing correction then everything should be OK. If you are not noticing correction then it may be a matter of needing to be re-cast and the helmet re-molded! (A terrible thought, I know!!) Have you been noticing some good correction? Marci (Mom to ) Oklahoma
Guest guest
Hi Marci: Yes, I think you're right. Rhiannon's head grew a little less than an inch, or 1 1/2 cm in 2 weeks. So, I have had to bring her in every other day for adjustments. I was a little worried as I thought maybe the helmet didn't fit right, and I was concerned that there was too much pressure. But you should see the difference! Her little head is getting rounder every day! My husband and I both feel that if she didn't get any more correction than she has now it would be OK as she looks like other kids. Of course, the " plagio police " that we are can see them, but we are a uniquely trained force. So, we expect to see some more improvement in the coming weeks, but I'm sure they won't be so dramatic. Thanks for your reply and support, , Rhiannon's mom > , > > We did use a locally made helmet, but it did not have any velcro. It was kind > of like a football helmet.
