You just skip the week of pills for her period (the sugar pills) and then you prevent her from getting her period. Karyn

Karyn Also out on the market now are birth control patches but this would only work of course if she doesn't have sensory issues and will allow a patch to her skin. I've tried it and honestly you can't tell it's there. Then again I'm not the one w the sensory issues! LOL Anyway, just another option. Sandy mom to Gabby (6, ds-asd) and Adam (2) rickvargas1@... Guest guest
, I was very nervous about taking Jennfier to the OB/GYN. She doesn't let anyone touch her there and I just didn't know how she would do. Mind you she will use tampons when she wants to swim. But at 21yo, I was told she should have an exam. I did like Granny and let her watch me having it done first. Then we talked and talked about it (well I talked, she listened, she is nonverbal)! The doctor was so patient with her - she let her touch the instruments and explained everything as she was going to do as she was doing it telling her what it would feel like. She did get a speculum in but did not do a physical exam that first time. Like so many other thigns I think I worried more about it than I needed to. Jen did talk about it for a week after we went but has been fine since. Good luck! Kathy Everett
