Guest guest
Nice to meet you Charleen! I'm no where near you - in SNOWY Canada, in fact! It's good to hear that you could get the ball rolling a bit faster for your son! Go Mom Go!! ) Well, welcome to the group! Kendra (Hanna, DOC Band graduate ~ April-Sept, 2000) New member here, in Texas Hi everyone. I just wanted to introduce myself, since I just joined a couple days ago. I'm 26 years old, live in East Texas (near Tyler/Longview), use the CT office in Dallas, have been married 5 years, have 2 kiddos (3yr old girl and 7 month old boy), 1 himalayan, 1 german shepard, and 1 appendix quarterhorse, lol. I'm also a pediatric nurse and work full time. We have been driving to Dallas once a week, which is 3 hours one way, for my son Caleb, who started in a DOCband last month for severe plagio. He also has mild torticollis. He fights us on the neck stretches that were prescribed, and we just got an order last week to start physical therapy twice a week. So, we are a busy bunch. Wow, if I'd of know what I was in for the first time the doctor said "Well, his head looks a little flat, let's try repositioning and go from there" I sure would of liked to of known about you guys. This is a wonderful source of information and support, and I'm looking forward to being a part of the group. We had a terrible time with the whole process of getting referred for a diagnosis of plagio (not the doctors fault, his nurse couldn't get him an appointment till he was going to be almost a year old with a neurosurgeon). So, took matters into my own hands (anything for my babies, lol), called Cranial Technologies, they gave me the # of a craniofacial surgeon, and here we are one month later. Everyone at the Dallas office has been wonderful and we are grateful for all their help. Caleb has adjusted wonderfully to his band, and has even started fussing when it is off at night when he gets tired. It's like he won't go to sleep without it. Well, I know this was a long intro, but I'm excited to meet everyone! Anyone else live near me? Charleen (Texas)For more plagio info

Guest guest
So good to have you with us. It's good to hear that you took matters into your own hands and have proceeded with treatment for Caleb - good for you. We have lots of members in Texas so I'll bet there is someone near you - I'm in the Oklahoma City area so I'm not terribly far away! :-) Marci (Mom to ) Oklahoma
