Hi Bonnie-CT will accept payment plans although each location may be different so talk to them. I am sureyou can work something out-also I have read they have given some people breaks so definitely ask about that if you re paying privately. Now financial assistance you can call your state department of health-there is a lot of monies out there that you can apply for and possibly get coverage or atleast help. Also try calling the Shriner's they provide assistance as well but I am not sure what the requirements are. Many moms have done fundraisers and have been quite successful if you are active in your community or church try that route. As far as options with your insurance appeal appeal here are some links that may help you with that. Also try the advocate group for help and this lawyer-if all else fails.

Self-insured with CCN - denied...help, please

Hi, I'm new to the group. My twin sons have both been diagnosed with

Plagiocephaly. Cranial Technologies contacted CCN (I'm self-insured

with CCN through NASE) won't even review the request. No coverage

for orthotics or durable medical goods. Do I have any options for

fighting this. The woman was very helpful at CCN, recommended that

CT may accept the provider discount if they offer one (made no sense

to me, if they offer a provider discount, why not cover the two DOC

Bands). She also suggested financial assistance. Are there any

places to go for financial assistance? I'm contacting the person who

sold me my policy tomorrow, not sure how much help he will be. My

sons are seven months and I'd like to get the ball rolling. Does

anyone know if Cranial Technologies accepts payment plans? Any help

will be much appreciated. Thank you.

Bonnie

Bonnie,

Welcome- I do know that CT offered to let us pay in 3 installments of $1000-

but I think they would have worked with us on the payment plan if our ins.

didn't cover it. Really look hard into appeals, there are so many parents

posting, I WON, about their appeals that it should give you incentive to keep

fighting! Good luck!

Hello Bonnie and welcome! Sorry to hear about your insurance problems. :-( If

your plan doesn't cover orthotics or DME it sounds like a real long shot at

getting them to pay. They have to stick with the policy language for the most

part so they don't set any precedences they don't want to follow up on later!

CT does offer payment plans and you might try contacting some local Shriners

- they are very good at offering money for medical assistance especially for

children.

Sorry to hear about the problems. I hope you will share more of your story

when you have some time! Good luck and let us know how things go.
