Guest guest
, The fact that 's ears did not come back into alignment was a HUGE source of concern and worry for me when finished her treatment. However, we are a year away from that point in time and I no longer have those fears or concerns. Her hair hides the residual ear misalignment and she is a very smart and extremely active girl. I still have concern about eyeglasses fitting her properly, but she can wear contacts or they can adjust the arms of the glasses differently to fit her ears. I also worry that she will be self-conscious about wearing her hair up or short, but we will cross those bridges when we get there. She looks good and I'm probably the only person who notices the ear problems so I have tried to put those worries and fears behind me. I totally understand your concerns - maybe you could discuss this with your ortho. Perhaps keeping with the helmet a bit longer would help with the ear misalignment. I hope this helps! Guest guest
Marci~ I was wondering as far as s ear misalignment goes what are your concerns. Because Grace has been in her locally made helmet for 3 1/2 months and it will be probably 4 months total when she is done. We have seen significant change in her head shape and are so pleased with the rounding of the back of the head as well as the top and tort side that her head was drifting to due to her tort. As far as the plagio she was considered mild by the neurosurgeon but the tort was moderate to severe and I do notice that while her ears and the alignment are so much improved I do not believe they will ever be exactly in line (seeing as how we are close to the end of the treatment) I am wondering if you have had any concerns or have heard of there being any problems with hearing or damage to the ear etc from this? That is a concern I have and I don't know if I need to think about it now or not? Thanks and Grace (7 months old)
