Hi, I'm new to the group. My twin sons have both been diagnosed with

Plagiocephaly. Cranial Technologies contacted CCN (I'm self-insured

with CCN through NASE) won't even review the request. No coverage

for orthotics or durable medical goods. Do I have any options for

fighting this. The woman was very helpful at CCN, recommended that

CT may accept the provider discount if they offer one (made no sense

to me, if they offer a provider discount, why not cover the two DOC

Bands). She also suggested financial assistance. Are there any

places to go for financial assistance? I'm contacting the person who

sold me my policy tomorrow, not sure how much help he will be. My

sons are seven months and I'd like to get the ball rolling. Does

anyone know if Cranial Technologies accepts payment plans? Any help

will be much appreciated. Thank you.

Hi Bonnie and welcome to the group! Both of my twins wore bands also

for their plagio. We didn't use the DOCband, but I know that they do

set up payment plans. Definitely check into the provider discount,

and the links that Beck gave you (holy links Batman!!) Also I just

wanted to say, have you thought of checking out different orthotists

who provide the STARband? The STARband is very similar to the

DOCband in that they are both an active band, which means they apply

minimal pressure to the rounded parts of the head to help promote

growth in the flattened areas. But the STARbands are usually

considerably cheaper. I am just throwing this out there because,

along with the commute to the nearest CT, the cost of needing two

bands was a major deciding factor for my husband and I. Good luck to

you, please keep us up to date! And again, welcome to the group!
