Guest guest
I would try to see Dr. Willa Hseuh at UCLA or whoever she recommends is their local expert there now. Mention my name when you call her office. I know her well. Lets see if there are 10 million folks in LA about 1/3 will have HTN and if we give a conservative estimate that only 1% of those have PA the there should be at least 3,000,000 x .01 = at least 30,000 folks with it. Mostly unrecongnized I suspect. May your pressure be low! Clarence E. Grim, BS, MS, MD Senior Consultant to Shared Care Research and Consulting, Inc. Guest guest
There are probably hundreds of thousands who don't know they have the AMA's " most under-recognized cause of hypertension in the United States " - PA - yet. Don't feel too badly - I went through 15 years of worsening and wrong treatment - and 27 doctors who said they'd seen few or any cases, translation : they did not test for it - before I found one who knew how to manage PA. You can check the ASH website: http://www.ash-us.org/ and the doctor who runs it for California : http://www.ash-us.org/chapters/california.htm and try to find a specialist nearest you : http://www.ash-us.org/specialist_program/directory.htm here is a bad faith and quality assurance expert witness doctor ready to frighten those who'd ignore or harm you : http://www.freereferral.com/resume/C000177A.php but I'd call the state licensing medical board to see who has HTN certification http://www.medbd.ca.gov/board/contact_us.html Let me know what you find - I will do likewise, as I am in the Bay Area.
