Guest guest
Misha, I think it is very possible that Jack is getting used to the exercises. Now that the newness has worn off maybe he is just enjoying his one to one contact time with mommy! As far as seeing improvement I don't see why not!! Those exercises are designed to help the neck muscles and maybe that is just what is happening. As for tummy time - that is a tough one. Back to Sleep babies don't tend to think very highly of tummy time. The fact that you are trying to increase tummy time is GREAT!! Do you have a small pillow or a rolled up towel that you could prop his chest up on? Maybe that would allow him to see around a little easier. Also they make play quilts that have activities all over them - textures, things that make sounds, mirrors, etc. Someone else here (I think it was ) suggested putting a mirror on the floor so he could see himself. That sounded like a good idea to me too! Good luck and keep being aggressive with that repositioning, stretches and tummy time. It sounds like you are doing great - keep up the good work! Guest guest
Hi Misha it sounds as if things are going really well for you- that is wonderful. I hope for your sake you dont have to go the helmet route- but ifyou do then cross that bridge when you come to it. For now work hard on repositioning and tummy time-as far as the tummy time. Have hard time with that too when screams about it. I do prop her over the boppy and that helps and sometimes I just roll alittle towel under her chest so she is elevated I try and let her go longer and longer in between consoling and of course (like you) she is practically glued to me in the front carrier. Try using a mirror and laying on the floor with Jack and talking to him play soothing music make sure his bellyisnt too full it could be if you just fed himadn then lay him on his belly it hurts because it is full. What else just trya nd distract him with toys and squeaky things and so on. Here is a link for boppy products and some other repositioning devices that may be helpful. Please keep us posted on how things go.
