Well we just found out we were denied for the Doc Band by First

Health. Anybody have any dealings with them? We are still waiting

for our official letter. How long does that usually take? We found

out from CT they denied us because they did not have enough doctors

info for medical neccessity. Even though CT does not understand

this because we sent them a whole packet of info. Now our doctor

will not call the insurance because he wants us to see a

craniofacial doctor first. We don't go until May 21. McKenna will

be almost 7 months by then. We don't know what to do. Wait for the

appointment and hopefully this will satisfy insurance or go ahead

and get started and hope they reimburse us. Any suggestions on this

would be appreciated. Also we are going to be moving back to

Texas. We are looking to live in the Burleson, , Cleburne

area. These are about 30 to 45 minutes south of Fort Worth. Does

anyone know of any PT's who are knowledgable with tort and plagio in

this area? Please let me know if you do. Any suggestions on your

experiences with these problems would be appreciated.

Thank so much,

and McKenna

,

I am sorry to hear of your denial, I imagine that you must be very

frustrated. What I can remember from reading so many of these posts

is not to start anything until you have received the official letter

of denial (someone, please, correct me if I'm wrong) Once you do

have the latter then you can proceed with the casting, while

appealing simultaneously. I think it has something to with the

insurance company could then deny you for starting treatment without

proper authorization. I hope someone who has dealt with insurane

hassles will respond to you. Also, try to get on the cancellation

list of your specialist, and call a few times a week so that they

don't forget about you! Good luck , please keep us posted!
