Yesterday, I passed along the advice that 2 cups of beet juice could

lower BP. Yesterday afternoon, I drank 2 cups of Biota beet juice.

Well, guess what? In the evening, I had horrible intestinal cramping

and reddish diarrhea, not to mention that the juice stained my urine a

lovely pale fuchsia pink. Guess the label was right: it said the juice

was for cleansing and fasting. Then I read drink 1 cup, not 2. My

advice is to drink only 1/2 cup after that episode, and drink lots of

water and eat along with it. I took Pepto-Bismol, soda crackers,

chamomile tea, and a heating pad to bed and slept it off. Sometimes,

you can have too much of a good thing. Nothing else I ingested could

have caused this. Today, bowels are normal.
