Guest guest
I heard from Fox 4!!! My letter that I wrote to them is at the bottom...Want to join me and my family??? trisha, thanks for watching! i'd love to do the story ... especially if you and your family agree to participate. i'm out of town all next week, but write again and we'll set something up for later this month or in June. thanks In thought, Hammarley Fox 4 Medical Reporter KDFW FOX 4 News - Dallas-Fort Worth, TX phone: 214-720-4444 / 817-654-4000 web: www.kdfwfox4.com Thanks for watching FOX 4 News! >>> <ttm4@...> 05/08/02 09:39PM >>> email: ttm4@... name: Trisha T. s city: Dallas state: TX comment: I am a regular viewer of Fox 4 and I have watched Hammerly for as long as I can remember. I have seen several of his stories and I wanted to ask about him doing a story on a condition that my 4 mo. old son has. It is called Torticollis " Wry Neck " or " Twisted Neck " . The reason I am wanting him to do a story on this is that alot of parents dont know what to look for and it can cause even more problems if not caught early enough. The signs are so easy to overlook and if I had not asked about my son alway seeming to look to his right and his head being flat @ his 8 wk. check up things could have been worse later on down the road. His Torticollis has cause flattening of his head he has Moderate/Sever Brachycehaly & Plagiocephaly. In some cases if these are left untreated it can lead to correcting a residual deformity with painful surgical intervention. There are good chance to that left untreated could lead to lifelong deformities. I have met many parents lately that are dealing with this with me and it is difficult. Insurance companies are claiming the corrections with the DOC band (from Cranial Technologies) to be for " Cosmetics " . When in most cases it is cause from conditions like Torticollis. My son in in Physical Therapy now and we have tried repostioning and nothing is helping. Our only hope is the doc band. Which we are fighting for. However I am just wanting there to be a story done to make other parents aware of these conditions and all of the problems it can cause. The children are what I am fighting for . Please consider doing some research and possibly a story on this. Thank You.
