Guest guest
so I don't look like a complete idiot and to make sure I don't confuse anyone - the pu is for poyuric which is increased urination and the PD is for polydipsic which is for increased thirst. Everyone once in a while, when talking about medical stuff, I accidentally let a vet acrontym slip in which doesn't make sense to anyone else. You guys might enjoy this one though - it's " ADR " . The most frustrating (and very common) presenting complaint. Here's what it stands for: " ain't doin' right " . As in " Doc, Fluffy here just ain't doin' right " . All vets cringe upon hearing a client say this - it means that the history just isn't going to be very revealing - the owner knows something is wrong but doesn't know any specifics. Sigh... So many medical docs don't know how lucky they are that their patients can talk to them and describe their symptoms. Now if only we could find a way to get them to consistently listen...
