Guest guest
, Never mind- I thought the surgery was for the untreated plagio, not for cranio! Sorry for the brain fizzle! ' Mom

Guest guest
I just saw a 21 month old with untreated plagio. Let me just tell you it doesn't completely round over time for some kids! It looked like he had some issues with his jaw too. His mom said he never wore a band or helmet and she didn't know what repositioning was. He did have surgery to correct cranio, but never was banded. Dane's mom DOC Grad
Guest guest
Unbelievable! You would think if she had cranio she would have been well informed. I wonder who her doctor was! jane's Mom
Guest guest
: That's so sad, especially seems how he had cranio surgery, I can't beleive noone educated her about a post-op band or helmet. What a shame. Debbie Abby's mom DOCGrad MI > I just saw a 21 month old with untreated plagio. Let me just tell > you it doesn't completely round over time for some kids! Guest guest
Sometimes the ridges will look more prominant as the head shifts... as long as baby isnt uncomfortable this is a good sign that things are going as they should be. My son got this from just repositioning! Ali Untreated Plagio Hi...looking for anyone who decided not to helmet/band. Our son (8 1/2 months)has mild plagio on the right side. He had his helmet (Danmar)for 2 weeks and we took it off after the first week of full time wear because we noticed that the top of the flat spot was looking worse (like the ridge at the top of his head was looking taller or more prominent). Our Ortho and surgeon think the helmet fits great...and they don't think our son has had enough wear to have any major changes from the helmet. The ortho placed an extra piece of foam at the spot we think looks worse to keep it from going anywhere. But the helmet seems awfully loose in that area. Of course the decision is left up to us. We don't want to make a mild problem worse. We're willing to live with the cosmetic issue but worry about any medical problems or social?? Anyone out there who decided not to treat and saw improvement?? Amy (Aidan V's mom) For more plagio info
