Dear ,

Hi, my name is Marie and I work for PSEG benefit department, I am helping one of our employees file a state appeal for a denied claim for a band. Horizon, PPO is the evil no-gooder. Anyways, in accordance with that, I would love to have that article faxed to me to help the cause for my employee (and hopefully anyone else in need of this service in the Horizon PPO plan and even bigger dreams, the entire state of NJ). I would be happy to report the results and help anyone else who can use the research that I have collected.

Thanks,

I'll be sure to get it posted on www.plagiocephaly.org. I remember reading the

article, but I've lost the link (I thought I had it posted).

Thanks !

Here's a copy of the article that was posted on the CT website. You can read it if you print it out - sorry for the crappy scan job; I'll try again later.

Dear Becky,

Thanks for the encouragement! I love ya back, but more specifically, I love the babies !!

Is any kind of medical studies or articles from Dr's that define the problems or un-treated plagio that you can direct me to, or send me either fax or email? I need this info in a hurry as the date to file this appeal is June 8th. I will be happy, when the appeal is complete to send you a copy of what I have prepared to post or send to anyone that it may help. I am not so sure anyone out there can help with this, but I have thought about another angle for this appeal. I would like to summarize the cost to the insurance companies with regard to untreated babies, i.e. cost of visits for TMJ, migraine headache therapy, etc, etc, as opposed to just paying for a band or helmet and the particulars at diagnosis. Maybe, just maybe, we can wake them up with hard $$ figures as that is the only way I can think of to catch their attention on a level that will be universal rather than just case by case. By the way, has anyone thought to do a study of the physcological effects of children with un-treated plagio? In doing this research, so far, the only thing I can tell that the medical community has addressed is the physical problems resultant to the issue, I think that the physcological issues can be just as big or bigger of a problem for these kids (growing up) as the medical issues. We all know how children often tend to stare or worse, treat others differently, because of a visible physical difference (and the resulting teasing, name calling, etc.)? My babies are now 17, 15 & 11; I have been fortunate in that I didn't know any better than to have them tummy sleep and because at the time they were born, plagio was not a known pathology. I am not convinced that tummy sleeping is a factor for SIDS. We were all tummy sleepers, our parents were worried about aspiration. I have not read any substantiated studies where SIDS is now on the decline because of back sleeping or side sleeping. Until I see hard statistics, I will view this back sleeping technique as a way of the medical community to explain the phonomenon of SIDS because they really haven't any other answers. Anyways, when I am through with the appeal, I will need to be removed from the plagio mailing list, but will happy to have the moderators give my email to anyone that I can help. It is a bit overwhelming reading through all the support stuff for me, as this is only one of my many cases and appeals. Not to mention, my mailbox runs out of space daily.

Thanks again for your help,

Hi Gail

Thanks for the info on the article. While the file printed ledgibly however, the scanned attachment is only the first page. Did you save this in your files or did you scan this from a paper file? Can you give me the names of the parties to the case or the date of the article? Perhaps I can go directly to the court here in NJ, and to the star ledger to get the archive on it. I will be happy to get all this info to everyone else, once I receive it. I am preparing an appeal and have to submit by June 8th and I think this will be vital to the case.

Sorry, that's all I have. I printed it off the CT website, and what you see is what I got. I think you can go to the newspaper website, and for a fee, get the article from them. I'm too cheap to do that - had to pay for 2 bands myself, you know. Good luck.

It was in the Star Ledger. Try your local library, my

library has back copies. I think the case you are

talking about was back in March around the 14th.
