Guest guest
Hi Just last night after Myas bath and she was crawling around the house and her hair had completely dried and we were waiting for the band to dry I noticed her hair was sticking up where it has to lay over top of her band in the front. I mean it looked so silly. And I had combed it down and its not like she has a tremendous amount of hair but it was just sticking up in that spot like it has to every day to lay over top the band so its not all on her forehead and getting into her eyes. My question is after she is out of her band will she have her hair sticking up like this forever. Will she have a permanent cowlick? Has anyone else had this problem. Any replies would be appreciated. Thanks Christi mom to MYa (DOC band 3/6/02)
Guest guest
Christi: Abby had a ton of hair while in her band, so I understand what you're describing about it lying over the front of the band. However Abby never developed any cowlicks from it. I would imagine after Mya is graduated & out of the band for sometime, the cowlick will go away. Especially once she starts growing more hair. How's she doing in the band? Guest guest
Thanks Debbie Im hoping it will go away after time. Mya is doing well in her band. At her last visit they told me if she keeps progressing the way she is then she will not need a second band. But if she slows down at all or her ears dont shift the way they are supposed to then she will need a second one. SO I am praying that she keeps progressing at the same rate if not faster. So she can get out of her band. But she dont seen to mind it at all. She has lately been trying to mess with the velcro Im not sure if shes just curious or if shes wants to take it off. I really doubt its because she wants to take it off cause she gets so excited when its time to put it back on. Its really funny to see how excited she is. Oh and you know the pooping in the tub issue well it has returned. Ughhhhh I guess i spoke to soon. She has been pooping in it again for the past few days. And last night I had to clean and refill the tub 3 different times just to get her washed off cause she kept pooping in it. And I even sat her on the toilet and she pooped in there too so I thought she had to be done. WEll nope!! Cause it just kept coming I was soo frustrated. I will be so glad when she stops this. ANd I am writing this in her baby book so she knows what a poopy girl she was JEESH! haha Christi mom to MYA (DOC band 3/6/02) > > Hi Just last night after Myas bath and she was crawling around the > > house and her hair had completely dried and we were waiting for the > > band to dry I noticed her hair was sticking up where it has to lay > > over top of her band in the front. Guest guest
Gail Thanks for the reply. I hope Myas will go away after shes out of the band. But shes still got a ways to go in her band. Shes only been in it for 2 1/2 months. Her hair is just starting to grow so much and I dont know what to do with it. ANd her hair is so completly different from her sisters hair who has beautiful thick curls. And Myas is just so straight and fine so any barrett I try to put in her hair just falls right out. But anyway thanks for the reply hopefully its just doing it cause its just used to going that way and when shes out maybe it can be trained to lay down flat as well. Christi mom to MYA (DOC band 3/6/02) > Sara had the same cowlick over the top of the band in the front. She's been out of the band for a week and I don't notice it any more. One time when I took Sam and Sara along to a hair appt for their big sister, the girl cutting her hair said that she noticed funny growth patterns in a boys hair that she cut during his band therapy. She said it seemed " spiky " and grew in all directions. She hadn't seen the boy since he graduated, so I don't know if his hair was still goofy without the band. We're due for another haircut, so when I see the stylist I will definitely ask about it again. > > Gail > Cowlick from the band?? > > > Hi Just last night after Myas bath and she was crawling around the > house and her hair had completely dried and we were waiting for the > band to dry I noticed her hair was sticking up where it has to lay > over top of her band in the front.
