Guest guest
Kellie: You sound very prepared already for the dreaded casting! It will be over fast, but yes, it does seem like forever! Sofia will be back to her happy self in no time once the casting is complete & won't remember a second of it. I do suggest taking photos if you can handle it! I never took any casting pics of my daughter & I regret that.....at the time I said I didn't ever want to remember that, but looking back, it was such a big event in her life, I wish I had that as a Kodak moment. I suggest bringing someone else with you for the casting, at least one other person. Sofia's favorite loud toy might help too. Just 2 more wks til Sofia's journey to a rounder head is here! Let us know when it's over with. Debbie Abby's mom DOCGrad MI > Our little one, Sofia has a casting appt. for May 28th at Cranial > therapies in Burbank, CA. Guest guest
Hi, Kellie! We just had our son's casting done last week and will be getting his band next week. We also went to Cranial Therapies and were very impressed with . Our son just turned a year old so we're getting started a little late, but was very encouraging and seemed to be very knowledgeable about the condition. It really helped put us at ease. No, the casting was not fun, but it's good that you've checked out the photos of the casting so it won't come as a complete shock to you. I think it really helped prepare me. And I could tell that it was definitely not hurting him, he just did not like being held down and didn't like not being able to see. Well, good luck to you and Sofia! Maybe we'll run into you at an appointment sometime. Robyn (mom to n) > Our little one, Sofia has a casting appt. for May 28th at Cranial > therapies in Burbank, CA. Guest guest
Hi Kellie, My son was casted at almost 4 1/2 months. He had no problem while they were casting the from of his head. He was able to lay down and I fed him a bottle. It occupied his attention. It was the back that he didn't like. he didn't like sitting up and not being abl to look aroung. And the way, he was positioned, there was no way to give him the bottle. All in all, it wasn't as bad as I expected. Good luck! Guest guest
Patty, I saw you got some good advice for the casting already, but just wanted to mention that if you can't get someone to come with you, you can ask Sherri/Charlotte to have come in to help you during the casting (I had to with 's exit cast - she was a lot bigger and stronger than the initial casting, and I couldn't keep her still and hold a bottle/lollipop). Good luck and happy rounding!!!
