Okay.

I just found out I was pregnant on Friday. My period was due the day before, but I didn't "feel" right, so I bought a test. I took a second test today, and it still says positive...

DH is a little stunned, to put it mildly. I am hopeful he will be a little more cheerful about it in the months to come.

My big problem, actually, is the fact that there are NO DOCTORS ACCEPTING NEW PREGNANCY PATIENTS IN NEVADA. Medical malpractice insurance has gotten so high out here, that if a Dr. delivers more than 130 babies in a year, the insurance doubles. I spent 2 hours on the phone this AM trying to find an OB. First I went to all the OB's, no luck there. Then I called all the nurse-midwives my insurance covers. No go. FINALLY I called a regular certified midwife, and I have an appt with her this Fri. I haven't told DH that we will be having a home birth yet. He was upset enough that we will be paying $1200 out-of-pocket for the birth.

However, I am happy about this! And she (midwife) is aware that I had a C-section last time and is comfortable with that. I wanted a natural childbirth this time around anyway, so I really don't care if it is here or in a hospital. There are a lot of hospitals and medical clinics all over the place, so I have no worries there.

As for how I am feeling, I have no nausea yet, but I didn't really get sick last time either and that was with twins. I am tired all the time and my temper is really short lately. I am getting a reputation at school for being "hair-trigger" which is really quite amusing.

Oh, and I am about 5 weeks along or so.

Hugs to all,

Jill Ramos, Las Vegas, NV

Hi jill I'm so happy I popped back to read the messages and read the

good news. I know your feelings on this and I hope its a girl but

boys are great too. Mine are 3 and 5 this week. You go girl. Your

attitude is like mine and I love it. I tell dh what were too and he

has to follow or I have a pissy fit...lol. Hope the home birth works

out for you. I prefer all the mess to be at the hopspital and I need

my epidural, that was life a heavensent after a hell of a pain. If

the anestheoligist did house calls I'd have mine at home too,

Lorraine.

Congratulations Jill!!!!

My hubby wasn't too pleased with our little surprise at first either, but it didn't take him too long to come around. I knew he would, he's just such a worry-wart!!

WOW Jill!

Congratulations! I'm very very happy for you. I have no doubt your

hubby will be thrilled soon too, these things can take some time to

sink in ;).

That is terrible about NV & their malpractice problems. What the

heck is a pregnant woman supposed to do for care? That is totally

crazy! I cannot imagine. I'm happy you were able to find a midwife

& you'll be having a home birth.

I hope you continue to feel well. I cannot imagine being sick &

having twins to care for too!

Keep us update - congrats again :)

Jill,

Congratulations!!!! I'm sure DH will come around in no time and get really

excited. I'm so happy for you! I can hardly believe that about your insurance -

that is the craziest thing. At least you are comfortable with the midwife

arrangement.

Keep us posted!
