So I was at CT yesterday morning, and they tell me I have a balance

due. I questioned it because I already paid my portion of the

coverage. We were just waiting for UHC to deny the claim and then

start paying for the rest. CT filed our claim with UHC on March 26th

and we had still not heard anything. Well when I inquired about the

balance due, she looked into the computer and casually said, oh

yeah, UHC paid. WHAT THE...?#! I thought I was hearing things. I

asked her to double check. And yes it's true, they paid.

Surprisingly enough, when I got home, there was an invoice for the

balance from CT in the mailbox. And it clearly shows the paid amount

by UHC. I'm still in a state of shock. UHC paid the out of network

amount. We originally thought IF they paid they would pay the in

network amount because no one else provided the same service. CT

said they would go back and try to get the difference from them.

Honestly, I don't care if I had to pay a couple of hundred more. The

fact is they paid something. I just can't beleive it. No denial, no

appeals, no nothing, just, here is their portion. I was certain we

would be denied, especially since we never got any x-rays or CT

scans or ever saw a neurosurgeon. We simply went on the

recommendation from the ped and CT. WOW!

Needless to say we are am extrememly happy. But on the flip side, I

really feel bad because so many of you are having so much

difficulty. I really hope the fact that I was approved means we are

moving in the right direction with the insurance companies.
