Guest guest
Does anyone think that the middle of their children's head is getting a little cone shaped? The part of 's head which is not being shaped by the helmet seems to be growing fast!! I am just a little nervous. When I take the helmet off his head seems a little unproportional! Guest guest
Hello Bill and welcome! I'll agree that it sounds like brachy. Can you post a picture of your son? It sounds like you have already received some information regarding banding. Have you been referred to a particular clinic for treatment? Guest guest
Debbie - I appreciate the link. I have taken my son to a plastic surgeon but he seems more like an order taker for head bands than a cutting edge resouce. The orthoist that he referred me to has done 80 head bands but has no experience in brachy. Looking at the web site you sent me to, my son clearly is a brachy. I live in San Francisco and hopefully someone out there on the west coast has had success with banding a brachy baby and can refer me to someone with experience. I don't want my son to be the orthoist first. Thanks again - Bill -- In Plagiocephaly , Debbie <dj2kirby@s...> wrote: > Hi Bill & welcome :)I'd agree w/christina that is sounds like brachy. You can visit www.plagiocephaly.org/support and compare headshapes. There are many members with brachy shaped children who have indeed banded them with good results!Debbie Abby's mom DOCGradMI > > wethomen <wethomen@y...> wrote:I am considering a head band for my son who is 6 months old. Guest guest
Beck - Thanks for the link. My son clearly looks like a brachy. The plastic surgeon who wrote me a prescription for a headband listed my son's diagnosis as plagiocephaly. After reading through the website and other links that I have been sent, I have even less confidence in him. Hopefully someone can refer me to an orthoist with experience in my son's situation. - Bill > head shapes > Click here: Brachycephaly.Info > > hi welcome to the baord we are glad youa re here. Guest guest
- Thanks for the message. Its good to finally hear that someone else has had the same experience. Did your orthoist have experience with Brachy babies before he banded your son and could you give me his name and phone number so that I can contact him? I would like to have someone with experience in brachy band my son's head. - Bill > Hi Bill, > > My son was DOCbanded at 6 1/2months with brachy. Guest guest
Marci - I'm not sure how to post a piture on this site but after looking at the web sites I was referred to, my son clearly has brachy. The orthoist I was referred to has done 80 head bands and has no experience with brachy. I live in San Francisco and am looking for a referral to an orthoist that has experience. Guest guest
Bill, I'm sorry if I missed this, but where are you located? Maybe someone in the group is near you and can recommend someone to you. Check out www.cranialtech.com to see if there are any DOCband clinics near you or you can check out www.orthomerica.com for STARband orthos. Guest guest
Bill are you near Palo Alto? Kim (mom to Kurt) I believe is getting her STARband from a facility in Palo Alto. Several other members have used this facility as well and seem pleased with it. I just posted a message to Kim with a subject line " Kim/Kurt Palo Alto " so maybe we'll get some feedback from her or another Palo Alto person. Guest guest
Marci - We are located in San Francisco. I sent an e-mail to Starband this morning asking for a list of orthos in the area. No response yet. According to the DOCband web site, the nearest clinics are in Southern California. I will try them if I can't find someone with the proper level of experience in Northern California. - Bill > > > head > > shapes > > > Click here: > > Brachycephaly.Info > > > > > > hi welcome to the baord we are glad youa re here. Guest guest
Beck - Thanks for the follow up. I sent an e-mail to Othomerica this morning looking for experienced orthos in my area. The doctors an the list at the links are all in Southern California. The are my next resort if I can't find the right level of experience here in the San Francisco area.
